1) ATLANTIC POSSE CONCEPT

The Atlantic Posse was formed for the purpose of supporting yachts to
voyage along the coast and cross the Atlantic in a peer supported
environment but not racing.

AP operates without specific schedules to make seafaring safer and less stressful
providing participants with the most favorable weather conditions and
ample time frames to explore local sights.

This also provides marinas with operational efficiencies as there are no
choke points compared to event or schedule driven rallies.

Yachts and participants organically integrate into a country's rhythm as they
arrive individually, slowly, consistently and over time.

Participating, is also incredible affordable at €/$ 175 x season it is one of the least expensive yet most immersive travel experiences in the world.

This sailing concept is based on one of the successful Panama Posse, which
grew from 15 yachts in 2017 to 388 yachts and connects up with the
Atlantic Posse.

LAUREL FOREST IN SÃO VICENTE

spectacular landscape boasts one of the biggest attractions of Madeira.
Its lush vegetation hides the fascinating indigenous laurel forest,
recognized by UNESCO in 1999 as Natural Heritage of Humanity. The
Laurisilva of Madeira is an outstanding relic of a previously widespread
laurel forest type. It is the largest surviving area of laurel forest
and is believed to be 90% primary forest. It contains a unique suite of
plants and animals, including many endemic species such as the Madeiran

Fanal forest is located at 32°48.548' N 017°08.4916' W on
the mountain plateau of Paul da Serra in the north-west part of Madeira.

"Lost in the fog

Out
of pure enthusiasm, I loose track of my travel companions and for a
while wander around the forest not really knowing where I am. But it is a
good kind of lost. I can only see a few meters ahead of me and the
silence is just as dense as the fog. It is like moving through a vacuum
of time into an entirely different world.

Suddenly
I spot a particularly characteristic tree. I have seen it before and
realize I have walked around in a circle. I really have been captured by
a fairy tale!

the first explorers came to Madeira, the island was covered by
Laurisilva forest. Now only 16% of the forest is left. Laurisilva is a
type of native forest that once covered much of southern Europe. Now
there are only a few areas left and the largest is here in Madeira. "

OUR HISTORY

The Original Posse was founded in May of 2017 at the Marina and Isla Navidad Resort in Barra de Navidad, MX.
15 cruising couples and a motor vessel milling about the lush resort and pool had their hands up interested in heading south. AIYA, RAVEN, BULA, LIQUID, XENIA, RESPITE, MAGIC, AVANT ( chimed in from Chiapas) , GEORGIA, CROSSROADS, SHEARWATER, DAD’S DREAM SANS FRONTIERES and EASY are just a few vessels who helped shape the camaraderie and voice of the Ocean Posse.
